ISM Alstonville & ISM Ballina is looking for two new group music teachers to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach the International School of Music curriculum which uses a powerful set of teaching tools to create strong, well-rounded, young musicians.

Our music classes are grouped by age and contain up to 10 students per class. We teach musicianship – so rhythm and pitch through fun games and activities which are highly educational and enjoyable for young students.

WHY TEACH THIS METHOD? The benefits of being a teacher in this system is that the teaching is exciting, effective and highly engaging. All the teaching materials are provided in a series of workbooks that keeps your planning to a minimum and also ensures that students are learning all the elements required to be a successful musician. Students learn piano, rhythm through body percussion and instruments, pitch through singing solfege, with a fixed Doh method helping to develop perfect pitch.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED? The successful applicant will ideally have grade 5 piano or equivalent, be a great communicator with both young children and parents and be open to learning an exciting new way of teaching. Prior teaching experience is beneficial but not essential. Trainees are required to attend up to two weeks of training in North Sydney mid-January 2020, (all expenses paid) plus attend paid pre-training in Alstonville during term 4 2020 and Term 1 2021. Home practice is required prior to training. Teaching will commence end of Jan 2021.

Generous, above award wage remuneration for the right candidates.
