This workshop will span over 2 days (January 30th-31st) and helps students between ages 4 and 12 engage with the exciting world of music. Based on the ISM method of teaching, workshops are presented in a fun, non-competitive environment to encourage artistic expression and creativity.

Students will learn basic musical skills through a range of activities including singing, movement, playing of instruments including percussion, piano and ukulele.

This is a perfect opportunity to experience what ISM Ballina is all about!

What’s included:

Day 1 (Thursday Jan 30th)

• Learning the fundamentals of music with assisted worksheets including graphic identification and note reading
• Rhythm and percussion
• Singing and movement of known and original songs
• Age appropriate songs on digital pianos and ukulele (subject to age group)
• Musical games

Day 2 (Friday Jan 31st)

• Review of material learnt on day 1
• More advanced rhythm and percussion
• Ensemble skills
• Basic composition skills
• Singing and Movement
• Repertoire on digital pianos/ukuleles
• Make your own instruments
• Musical games

Activities are tailored to suit each age group.

Workshop Time

*Times will remain the same on the second day*

Ages 4-5 – 9:30am-10:30am

Ages 6-8 – 11am-1pm

Ages 9-12 – 2pm-4pm

Costs

1 hour workshop per day for children aged 4-5 (2 hours total) $80

2 hour workshop per day for children ages 6-13 (4 hours total) $115

We also accept the Creative Kids Vouchers! Go to www.service.nsw.gov.au to register each child.
