Maybe you need some time to have a kid free grocery shop or some time to run some errands you’ve been putting off. Perhaps you’re on holiday and want to have some time to relax while the kids are busy or maybe your kids just simply love creating music.
This multi-day workshop is for you!
We will explore different rhythm patterns in different EDM subgenres using a drumrack designed in Ableton 12 Lite. We will learn how to select sounds for each percussive instrument, dig into the concepts of syncopation and polyrhythms, play with accents and sound effects.
In this week we will learn how to record our own samples as well as how we can manipulate these samples and “recycle” sounds for different purposes. We play with the “resampling” function from provided free plugins, transforming midi tracks to audio.
We will explore the concept of loop and groove giving life to our first “mini track”. In this class we will learn how to create a complete section of a tech house track and the concept of sidechain compression in audio terms.
